Subject: Farm Management Tour preview day

 

You’re invited to a June 4 media preview of the 2002 Farm Management Tour. Host farm families will be available for interviews that day.

Purdue and the Indiana Farm Management Association co-sponsor the annual tour of well-managed farms. This year's tour will be in Johnson and Shelby counties on July 9-10.

If you'd like to attend the preview on June 4, contact Alan Miller, Purdue Department of Agricultural Economics, at (765) 494-4203. You may meet the caravan at any point along the way, and visit any of the sites you choose. Reporters also are invited to ride in the vans that leave from Purdue.

The itinerary for the preview is:

6:30 a.m. Leave Krannert back dock in Purdue vans. To reserve a seat, contact Sandy Dottle at (765) 494-4248.

8:45 a.m. Poe Stock Farm, 2213 W State Road 144, Franklin, Ind.

10 a.m. Kelsay Dairy Farm, 6848 N 250 E, Whiteland, Ind.

11 a.m. Bruce and David Dougherty Farm, 5895 E 700 N, Franklin, Ind.

12:15 p.m. A fried chicken lunch will be available, for a fee, at the Purdue Extension Office in Shelbyville, Ind.

1:45 p.m. Rex Kuhn Farm, 8697 N 750 E, Morristown, Ind.

3:00 p.m. Foltz Farms, 2443 E Marion Road, Shelbyville, Ind.

6:00 p.m. Approximate arrival back at Purdue University.
