Faculty and staff honors

–   Victor H. Ransom, professor emeritus of nuclear engineering, has been appointed to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards. The committee advises the federal commission on safety aspects of nuclear facilities and the adequacy of safety standards. Members serve four-year terms.

–   A. Charlene Sullivan, associate professor of finance in the Krannert School of Management, has received the Salgo Noren Outstanding Teacher Award from the Krannert School. The award cites outstanding teaching in the master's program during the 2001-02 academic year. Runners-up were Mark E. Bagnoli, associate professor of accounting; and Gerald J. Lynch, professor of economics and Krannert School associate dean. Sullivan received a plaque and $4,000. Bagnoli and Lynch each received $3,000. Winners are chosen by current master's degree students. The Salgo Noren Foundation award, the Krannert School's top teaching award, has been given annually since 1968.
