Purdue School of Science honors student from West Lafayette

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A junior in the School of Science at Purdue University was recently presented with the Bruce Helfert Memorial Award.

Lindsay Elliott, of West Lafayette, was selected based upon her academic record, potential for future career success in the field of chemistry, her ability to communicate an understanding of science to others and her involvement in the community.

In addition to her undergraduate course work and research, Elliott serves on the women's lacrosse team, coaches girls' soccer at West Lafayette High School and participates in the Purdue Symphony Orchestra. She also has taught a chemistry class to middle school students.

Elliott plans to pursue graduate studies and become a research professor in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering.
