Robin Williams to make only Indiana appearance at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Superstar comedian/actor Robin Williams will make the only Indiana appearance of his current tour at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, in the Elliott Hall of Music at Purdue University.

Tickets for the concert will be $100, $76 and $51. Ticket prices include a $1 facilities fee. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday (5/20) and can be purchased at Purdue box offices or charged by phone at (765) 494-3933 or (800) 914-SHOW. Tickets also will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets. Williams is presented by Purdue Convocations in association with JAM Productions.

This stand-up comedy tour is the first for Williams in more than a decade.

Since his last tour, Williams has been one of the busiest actors in Hollywood, and in the 1990s he starred in 27 feature films. In more than 20 years of moviemaking he's collected a number of awards, including an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in "Good Will Hunting" and Academy Award nominations for "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Dead Poets Society" and "The Fisher King."

Convocations assistant director Laura Clavio said, "We're extremely excited to be the only Indiana stop on Mr. Williams' tour. I think it says a lot about our university and our community to be able to come out on top of what was obviously a very competitive process."

Due to the adult nature of much of Williams' stand-up material, this concert is not recommended for those under 18 years of age.
