March 27, 2002 Purdue vet school celebrates 14th annual Phi Zeta Research DayWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine will highlight work by its faculty and students on Tuesday (4/2) during the 14th annual Phi Zeta Research Day. The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. in Lynn Hall, Room G210. Current research and academic activities and achievements at the School of Veterinary Medicine will be featured. Researchers from all areas of the school participate, including faculty, staff, professional students, graduate students, and residents and interns. Poster and oral presentations are given throughout the afternoon, and outstanding researchers will receive awards. Posters highlighting the research of the school's faculty will be displayed at noon and 2:45 p.m. The afternoon also will include two talks and presentations of research and clinical investigation awards by veterinary graduate students. At 1:30 p. m. Ronald Hullinger, a professor of basic medical sciences, will give a presentation discussing developmental biology experiments that have been conducted on the space shuttle. Talks by finalists for the clinical investigation awards and graduate research awards will follow. Purdue Provost Sally Frost Mason will give the keynote address at 4 p.m. The afternoon also will include presentations on basic research and clinical investigations by veterinary graduate students, and poster sessions displaying the research of school students and faculty. Phi Zeta Research Day is organized by students and faculty of the School of Veterinary Medicine and sponsored by Purdue's Omicron Chapter of the Phi Zeta Honor Society, a national honor society of veterinary medicine.
