Purdue history professor leads discussion on Mother Jones

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A presentation on the biography "Mother Jones: The Most Dangerous Woman in America" will be at Purdue University at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in Stewart Center, Room 322.

Purdue history Professor Elliott Gorn, the author of the biography, will make the presentation. Mary Harris "Mother" Jones (1837-1930) was a leader in the movement against child labor in the United States. An advocate for the working poor, her rallying cry was "Pray for the dead, and fight like hell for the living."

The presentation, sponsored by the Purdue Women's Resource Office as part of their Women's History Month celebration, is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
