March 23: Opportunities For Aquaculture In Indiana

The Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service in Marion County, the Indiana Aquaculture Association, and the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant College program are hosting a program to update the public on research, regulations and marketing opportunities in aquaculture. The event will be at the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service Office of Marion County in Indianapolis. The registration fee is $45 and includes a one-year membership to the Indiana Aquaculture Association. Registration is requested by March 18. A boxed lunch can be purchased for $8 at the event or you may bring your own. March 27 And 28: Milk Pricing/Risk Management Workshops

The Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service is sponsoring workshops to familiarize dairy producers with how milk prices are determined and to help them understand milk futures, options and forward contracts. The one-day workshops will be 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Kendallville, Ind., on March 27 and repeated in Columbus, Ind., on March 28. Registration is $5 by March 20, and $10 after. April 7: Ag Awards Banquet

Outstanding students in the Purdue University School of Agriculture will be recognized at the annual Agriculture Awards Banquet. The banquet will be at 3 p.m. April 7 at the Radisson Inn in Lafayette, Ind. Students at each level were nominated by professors in their majors to be named the best student in their department. There will be one student selected to be the outstanding student overall at each level. For more information, contact Karl Brandt, assistant dean of the School of Agriculture, (765) 494-8472.
