4-H posts applications for Indiana Horse Council scholarships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Applications for the Indiana Horse Council's scholarship fund are available on the Indiana 4-H Web site.

The money is available for Horse Council members to use for any accredited post-secondary or technical school. However applicants may become members by sending membership dues with the scholarship application.

The scholarships are $500 each and can be applied to any major. This year, for the first time, the funds not only can be used for bachelor degree, associate degree and technical programs, they also can be used for professional and graduate degree study.

This is the 15th year the Indiana Horse Council has offered continuing education scholarships. The organization also provides grant money to clubs and organizations for equine-related workshops that are open to the public. The council is a non-breed specific organization that supports issues concerning all horsemen.

Scholarship applications are available on the Indiana 4-H Web site. The application also is available on the council Web site or by calling the office at (317) 692-7115. Applications must be received by March 1.
