Students from Indianapolis win stock market simulation contest

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Two brothers from Indianapolis are the first place winners of the home school division stock market simulation contest, sponsored by the Indiana Council for Economic Education based at Purdue University.

Mark and Joshua Cappel of St. Anne Homeschool will receive $50. The Cappels secured the largest return on $100,000 of money hypothetically invested in common stocks or mutual funds. Their "investment" yielded more than $120,700. Throughout the 10-week competition, the Cappels researched, bought, sold and monitored stocks as if they were real investors.
