Karen Plaut, executive vice president for research, announced today (April 18) that David Cappelleri has been appointed assistant vice president for research innovation in the Office of Research, effective May 1. Cappelleri, a professor of mechanical engineering with a courtesy appointment in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, will support key initiatives of the division of Strategic Interdisciplinary Research in the Office of Research.
Purdue PhD student Aimable Mugabo single-handedly distributed more than 1,000 USB cards promoting Purdue-based Scientific Animations Without Borders at Rwanda Day 2024, the largest event of its kind in the U.S. Mugabo’s efforts build on a recent collaboration between SAWBO and the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board to support agriculture extension efforts in the East African nation.
The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering has announced the induction of Arezoo Ardekani, professor of mechanical engineering, to its College of Fellows. Ardekani researches complex flows, soft and active matter, biological flows, and transport of particles and cells.
