Purdue University will play a significant role in the Great Lakes Water Innovation Engine (or ReNEW), a new National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engine that aims to discover, develop and deploy novel technologies to clean the Great Lakes while also attracting water-intensive manufacturers, and new jobs, to the Midwestern region.
Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., who has served as president of the University of Notre Dame for nearly two decades, will join Purdue President Mung Chiang on Thursday for a fireside chat as part of the Presidential Lecture Series. The public event is at 7 p.m. in Stewart Center’s Fowler Hall. While the lecture is free, a general admission ticket will be required.
Lela Mixon wasn’t searching for a new opportunity when she applied to be director of Purdue’s Office of Summer and Winter Sessions, but the job called to her. It seemed like the perfect blend of responsibilities from her past professional pursuits, such as developing new programs, providing alternative pathways and supporting student success.
The fifth annual Mental Health Action Week is set for this week (Feb. 26 to March 1) on the West Lafayette campus. A series of well-being activities, food, fun and programs highlighting available resources is planned for undergraduate and graduate students.
