The great weekend for Penske cars with Purdue ties continued Monday (May 29) in Charlotte at the Coca Cola 600 NASCAR race, with Jonathan Hassler (BSME '07) atop the pit box for race-winner Ryan Blaney. It's Hassler's first win for the #12 team after being named crew chief at the beginning of last season.
Alexandria Johnson does hard science on the most nebulous of subjects: clouds. As an atmospheric scientist and assistant professor of practice in Purdue University’s College of Science, she studies clouds wherever they are: in her lab, on Earth, throughout the solar system and into the galaxy.

COVID-19 wasn’t Soojung Jo’s first experience with the outbreak of a coronavirus — or disinformation spread through social media. Jo saw something similar happen when MERS struck Korea in 2015. Today, as a professor in Purdue’s School of Nursing, Jo researches how social media can better promote accurate health information.
Thanks to a group of Purdue Engineering students, Lafayette’s Greenbush Cemetery has a new historical marker that pays tribute to a local Civil War colonel. The EPICS materials engineering Bronze Team, composed of students from various majors, is committed to creating plaques for historical sites and memorials.
