Trustees approve professorships, administrative appointments, IUPUI department name change

The Purdue Board of Trustees today (Oct. 13) approved four named professorships and ratified a distinguished professorship and named deanship for the new dean of the College of Science. The board also ratified Ronald Elsenbaumer's appointment as chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, a department name change at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and a resolution of appreciation for donors to the university.

Purdue student loan debt continues dramatic drop

Purdue undergraduate borrowing is down 37 percent since 2012, and more Purdue students are graduating debt-free than at any time in the past 10 years, according to data released today (Oct. 13) to the Purdue Board of Trustees.

Purdue trustees provide Daniels 95% of metrics-based pay

The Purdue Board of Trustees today (Oct. 13) voted to withhold $10,500 of President Mitch Daniels' potential pay for 2016-17 after evaluating his performance at 95 percent. A continued focus on affordability and student success, plus fundraising and operational objectives, are the measures by which Daniels is judged by trustees, said trustees Chair Mike Berghoff.

PNW to lower tuition rates for future non-resident domestic students

Purdue University Northwest will offer tuition that is 1.5 times the in-state rate, beginning in fall 2018, to non-resident domestic students who are first-time freshmen, new-to-campus transfer students, or new graduate students, under a new rate structure approved today (Oct. 13) by Purdue's Board of Trustees.
