Purdue reorganizes research area; chooses committee to lead search

President France A. Córdova has announced that she will reorganize the Office of the Vice President for Research, which now will report directly to her. She also appointed a search advisory committee to identify candidates for the next vice president for that office. William R. Woodson, the Glenn W. Sample Dean of Agriculture, will chair the committee. More

Campus phone books coming this week

The 2007-08 Purdue telephone directories were expected to reach the West Lafayette campus today (Oct. 15) for distribution Tuesday if possible, almost certainly this week. More

Rec Center to celebrate 50 years

The Division of Recreational Sports soon will hold a week-long 50th anniversary celebration called "Building on a Legacy." All events associated with the celebration will be free and open to the public. Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate. More

Nationally known speaker to address campus relations with community

The Purdue branch of the American Association of University Women will present a lecture from a nationally known expert on campus-community partnerships at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 in Krannert Building, Room 154.

Rosemarie Hunter, on faculty at the University of Utah, will speak about "A Community Coming Together: Developing University-Community Partnerships for Reciprocal Learning, Action and Benefit." More

— "Lewis & Clark and the Indian Country: Two Hundred Years of American History." Exhibit in Hicks Undergraduate Library. Opening reception: Oct. 15. 4:30 p.m. UnderGrounds coffee shop. More
— Golden Taps. Oct. 15. 9:15 p.m. Steps of Hovde Hall. Purdue will honor students who died during the past six months. People planning to attend the ceremony should meet at 9 p.m. in the lobby of Schleman Hall. A reception will follow the ceremony in the Schleman lobby.
— Coach Tiller Radio Show. Oct. 15. 6 p.m. Pappy's Sweet Shop, Purdue Memorial Union. The one-hour radio show takes place live each Monday throughout the football season.

Purdue jazz to unleash wave of mambo tunes in Loeb performance

The American Music Repertory Ensemble and Lab Jazz Band will fill Loeb Playhouse with mambo rhythms during the "Mambo Kings" performance Oct. 19. More

Purdue Theatre to present 'Six Degrees of Separation'

Purdue Theatre will present John Guare's "Six Degrees of Separation" Oct. 25-28 in the Carole and Gordon Mallett Theatre in Yue-Kong Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts. More
