Tamara Morse say’s that her initial gifts to Purdue were a direct result of becoming engaged as a volunteer. “As a board member of KSAA, it was exciting to be a part of the initial discussions for Rawls Hall. Serving as a member of the Krannert at the Frontier campaign, it gave me an even more important perspective of the value of gifts to the school. It was very exciting to participate in the campaign, to make a gift and be able to celebrate the dedication of such a world-class facility.”
As a member of the Board of Directors of the Purdue Alumni Association, Tamara also had a great opportunity to experience the planning of the Dick & Sandy Dauch Alumni Center from the very first renderings! For her, making a leadership gift to fund the Library in the Dauch Alumni Center was an easy decision and Tamara says she was honored to be serving as President of the PAA when the Dauch Center was dedicated in October of 2004.
Tamara’s father, professor Emeritus Fred Morse, who taught in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue for 39 years, passed away in April of 2004. Tamara’s family set up a memorial fund in his honor and recently Tamara completed the endowment of the Fred Morse Memorial Scholarship Fund in the School of Mechanical Engineering. Tamara stated “Combining my Dad’s great love for the teaching profession and my strong ties to Purdue, this is my inspiration to continue my giving to Purdue.
