1976: PFSB has its roots in an organization known as the Council for Special Events, which was established in response to a recommendation by the Parents Advisory Council. The student group helped plan the fall parents weekend until 1989 when responsibility for the program was transferred to the Purdue Memorial Union and the Purdue Student Union Board.

1984: The Council for Special Events changed its name to the Purdue Foundation Student Board, and it became a branch of The Purdue Foundation. PFSB began providing President’s Council hosting to greet alumni at President’s Council pre-game football events and annual weekend events. Until 1990, PFSB activities focused on four major areas: Phone-a-thon, President’s Council hosting, John Purdue Club, and senior class gift.

1991: PFSB expanded its role to include hosting during men’s home basketball games, women’s home basketball games, and assisting with honorary coaches at each game.

1992: PFSB launched a corporate hosting effort in support of foundaton relations and University development officers. Due to scheduling changes, this effort was discontinued in the following school year.

1994: PFSB participated in special hosting related to the Vision 21 capital campaign.

2003: Geni Greiner became the new PFSB advisor and began taking different members of PFSB with her to regional events throughout the country to speak about the impact Purdue has made on their lives.

2003: PFSB launched a new Web site with the help of Purdue Marketing Communications.

2004: PFSB produced the first-ever alumni newsletter to send to over 1,000 PFSB alumni to inform the former organization members about the activities of current PFSB members on campus today.
