Indianapolis Area Freshmen Parents attend Parent Orientation
Fall 2005 - The weekend before Boiler Gold Rush started on campus, several freshman parents received their own orientation to the campus experience. Nearly 80 parents attended this event, graciously hosted by David and Brenda Day in Noblesville, IN. Parents heard remarks from David Day, John Sautter, Vice President of Housing and Food Services, and David Stuebing, a resident assistant at Tarkington Hall, followed by questions and answers. University Residences Dining Services catered box dinners.
One parent provided this feedback following the session, “I would like to thank you and your staff for your time, effort, and energy devoted in making the inaugural "Freshmen Parent Orientation" meeting so meaningful for me and other Purdue parents. It provided another opportunity for parents to process additional information so that the move-away, move-in transition with their student could be as smooth as possible. Overall a good check point meeting before the big start.”
