Dear Fellow Purdue Parents,
We have joined the Purdue Parents Campaign because we care about the quality of experience our students receive on campus. And there is no more exciting time to be involved as a parent at Purdue. Purdue parents have contributed more than $10 million to areas all across campus, beating our original goal way ahead of schedule.
But we are not resting on our laurels, as there is much work that remains to be done. As we watch our kids leave for college, we like to think of this time as a new beginning, full of unimagined adventures. As each one left home we, like most of you, went through an emotional roller coaster. We were proud parents but the physical separation was tough. College is such a great learning experience for our kids. Besides the academics, it is a chance for these "future boomers" to grow into the responsible adults we know they will be.
We found a cure for the lonesome-parent blues by getting involved with Purdue through the Purdue Parents' Campaign two years ago and now we serve as co-chairs. We are having a great time experiencing Purdue from a parent's perspective.
Kitty and I are pleased to chair the Parents' Campaign during the coming year, taking the reigns from Rod and Cindy Ehrlich. This is wonderful opportunity for Purdue parents to step up and make a difference while their children are still in school. But our involvement is not just about financial support. Our parents have become involved in activities all across campus and in every school. We look forward to working with each of you in the coming year, and to making the Parents Campaign a resounding success.
Sincerely,
Bob and Kitty Parrin
