Students and Scholarships
Purdue's commitment to attracting the best and brightest
students without regard to economic background is
costly, yet it is critical to achieving our mission
of access and opportunity for all. Funding is necessary
for endowed scholarships, fellowships, and awards
that translate into real opportunities for our students.

The Purdue Opportunity Awards Program
Purdue Opportunity Awards are granted to students
with high financial need, personal hardship(s), and/or
other extenuating circumstances. The awards combine
with federal and state funding to provide a total financial
aid package equal to a student's tuition, room, and
board for the first year at Purdue University's West
Lafayette Campus. There is one award for each of Indiana's
92 counties.
Thanks to the generosity of numerous private donors, POA students returning to Purdue as sophomores
will now be eligible to receive up to $2,500 to cover
the gap remaining after federal, state, and other university
aid has been applied to college costs. This will not
guarantee a full tuition, room, and board package
for each student. However, this new donor-supported
funding, combined with the other sources, will meet
most, if not all, of the recipients' second-year expenses
at Purdue!

Faculty
Purdue's faculty members are not only producing research
that has a positive impact on our world, they touch
the lives of students as they educate the leaders
of tomorrow. Purdue is seeking additional financial
resources for endowed chairs, professorships, and
research funds to recruit and retain the world's most
exciting scholars and teachers.
Programs and Centers
Getting involved with our community— both
near and far—is one of Purdue's fundamental
values. From experiential learning to research centers,
community services, and extension programs, the University
reaches out to build mutually rewarding relationships
with real-life benefits. With additional funding for
its programs and centers, Purdue can continue to develop
initiatives that support hands-on learning and collaboration
between Purdue, and business and industry.
Facilities
and Equipment
At Purdue, we’are constantly evolving our facilities
for discovery, learning, and engagement to give our
faculty and students the very best resources for pursuing
knowledge and putting it to work in our world. People
are the key to Purdue's excellence, but those people
need the very best facilities to achieve preeminence.
Unanticipated Opportunities
Gifts that are not designated for a specific purpose
(unrestricted gifts) are critically important because
they allow the University to respond to needs as they
arise. Unrestricted funds can mean the difference
between a missed opportunity and a breakthrough discovery,
improved student learning, or a new invention.
