IT IS ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE that more than 50 years have passed since we first came to Purdue
University. For some of us, returning to campus is
part of an enjoyable routine. For others, it’s been
years since we’ve been back. For us all, the 50th
Anniversary of our graduation from Purdue will
bring back memories of the time we spent here
and the positive impact our Purdue education
and the many friends that we made have had on
our lives.
How many of you can even remember what the campus looked like in the mid-fifties? Many of
the buildings we spent time in are still standing, of
course, but some are not. Campus expansion and
the number of new buildings would be mind-boggling
to someone who has not visited Purdue for
several years. Purdue University has certainly
grown and changed to keep pace with an ever-changing world.
To commemorate the occasion of our 50th Anniversary and to
honor our University, the Classes of 1956 and 1957 will undertake a
joint class gift project that will insure that our great classes will forever
have a place in the changing face of Purdue University. As our
50th Anniversary gift to our alma mater, our goal is to partner with
the University to build a beautiful park-like area to be called the
Classes of 1956 and 1957 South Campus Plaza
