| Can you believe
it has been 25 years since you graduated from Purdue University? Twenty-five
years ago, the disco era was in full swing and the Bee Gees were hot, hot, hot!
Rod Stewart was asking "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "Superman:
The Movie" was tops at the box office.
Our 25th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on those times and the role
Purdue has played in each of our lives and careers. Our country and society
have undergone major changes since we walked across the Elliott Hall stage
back in 1979. But our University has kept pace and often led the way in advances
in technology and educational programs. Through it all, one thing has remained
the same: Our campus continues to be full of students receiving one of the
best educations in the nation, enjoying their own unique college experiences,
and creating their own Purdue memories — just as we did more than 25
years ago.
Anniversary class gifts are a long-standing tradition at Purdue, and our class
continues this legacy with one of the most exciting and unique class gifts
in Purdue history. In celebration of our 25th anniversary, the class raised funds for The Class of 1979 High Ropes Challenge Course.
High ropes courses provide the ultimate group or team challenge, focusing on
leadership training and team-building skills.
The high ropes challenge course was dedicated during Celebration Week in October 2005. The fundraising
goal was set at $200,000. Keith Krach (IE '79), the
campaign chair, made a $100,000 challenge gift to the project through
the Krach Family Foundation. For an update on the class campaign, Click Here.
