Director of Development
College of Technology

Job Number: 0700175

Description

Working with the Associate Vice President for Advancement and the Director of Advancement for the College of Technology, the primary purpose of the Director of Development for the College of Technology is to plan and implement major gift activities aimed toward the Dean's fundraising priorities, including strategies and a timeline for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects/donors. Principle major gift prospects/donors will include corporate partners, foundations, alumni, and friends.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of experience in the development field, including solicitation of gifts in a non-profit organization.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to communicate well in writing and speaking before large groups.
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to represent the University with tact and diplomacy at all times
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to appreciate the mission of Purdue University and the College of Technology.
  • Ability to travel.


Preferred:

  • University experience.
  • Marketing and communication experience.
  • Familiarity with fundraising and opportunities in engineering and science education.
  • Foundation solicitation experience.
  • Good computer skills.

Additional Information

  • Some travel is required for this position.
  • A check of criminal conviction records will be made for employment in this position.
  • FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
  • Retirement Eligibility: TIAA/CREF Contribution Waiting Period
