Description
The Director of Development will report to the Associate Vice President of Advancement and work closely with the Dean of the College of Agriculture and other school and department colleagues to plan, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive development program for the College. Efforts include the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects including individuals, corporations and foundations. Travel is required for this position.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three years of experience in fund development including solicitation of gifts, or experience soliciting goods or services.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills including speaking before large groups.
- Ability to interact with stakeholders from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to represent the University with tact and diplomacy at all times.
- Ability to travel.
Preferred:
- Higher education fundraising experience.
- Familiarity with the programs of the College of Agriculture.
- Good computer skills.
Additional Information
- Some weekend and evening work is required for this position.
- Travel is required for this position.
- A check of criminal conviction records will be made for employment in this position.
- FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
- Retirement Eligibility: TIAA/CREF Contribution Waiting Period.
