Description

Under the direction of the Senior Director for Corporate Relations, serve as an account officer for obtaining corporate funding to Purdue University.  Work with corporations and corporate foundations to build relationships and encourage funding opportunities.  Assist the Senior Director for Corporate Relations in managing the portfolio of key corporate partners to the University.  Using the tools and resources available and working with the School/College Directors of Development and Development Research Services (DRS), identify new corporate prospects.  Serve as process manager for a portfolio of Lafayette-area corporate prospects.  Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate representatives by providing information, data, and facilitating visits to campus and to corporate offices.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent verbal/written/interpersonal communication.
  • Strong organizational and self-motivation skills.
  • Ability to develop corporate relationships and solicit and secure gifts.
  • Ability to represent the University with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to assist colleagues with corporate strategy, as well as work independently.
  • Ability to quickly learn core competencies of University.
  • Ability to communicate benefits of collaboration to corporate partners.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

Preferred:

  • Prior fund-raising or corporate relations experience at/with a college, university, foundation, community organization, or related work experience.
  • Knowledge of the University, including research areas.

Additional Information

  • This posting represents two vacancies.
  • Travel is required for this position.
  • Weekend and evening work is required for this position.

  • FLSA:  Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime).
  • Retirement Eligibility:  TIAA/CREF Contribution Waiting Period.
