Description

From a researched list of mid-level prospects, schedule personal visits and make face-to-face solicitations in the $1,000 to $25,000 range.  Many gifts in the lower part of the range will be solicited by telephone.  Travel requires four to six nights away from home per month.  Share pertinent call information with college/school and unit fundraisers through electronic contact reports and personal communication.  

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills along with strong public speaking skills.
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders from a wide range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to solicit gifts in person.
  • Ability to represent the University with tact and diplomacy at all times.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to travel.

Preferred:

  • Experience in fund development including solicitation of gifts and/or related work experience.
  • Knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles.

Additional Information

  • This posting represents two vacancies.
  • A check of criminal conviction records will be made for employment in this position.
  • Travel is required for this position.
  • Weekend and evening work is required for this position.
  • FLSA:  Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
