EVP and Treasurer's Area Strategic Plan

Vision Statement: The Executive Vice President and Treasurer's area will be a preeminent provider of critical services and functions to the Purdue community, offering timely, cost-effective, high-quality support to a wide range of stakeholders throughout the Purdue University System, the State of Indiana, the United States and the entire global community.

Mission Statement: The various units under the supervision of the Executive Vice President and Treasurer are responsible for the stewardship, planning and management of a broad range of products, processes and services critical to the realization of Purdue University's mission of learning, engagement and discovery. These responsibilities are conducted in an ethical, effective and efficient manner, guided by the strategic plans of Purdue University and the best interests of its faculty, staff and students.

Goals and Strategies:

  1. Develop and Implement a Comprehensive Diversity Program that Increases Purdue's Diversity
    • Establish a Supplier Diversity Development program to encourage broad participation in the procurement of goods and services, construction and consultant services
    • Establish a Diversity Task Force to develop and guide recruitment and retention throughout the Treasurer's area and across the University for staff positions
    • Redesign recruitment processes to ensure a broad and diverse pool of candidates
    • Establish a Treasurer's Internship Program to aid recruitment and diversity efforts
  2. Oversee the OnePurdue Project to a Successful Completion
    • Redesign Purdue System business policies and processes to improve service and cost-effectiveness
    • Develop and implement an identity management, access and security strategy that incorporates the PUID number and safeguards protected information
    • Implement web-enabled, self-service business processes to improve service and increase cost-effectiveness
    • Deliver high-quality training to the Purdue community to enable effective use of the new ERP system
    • Develop and implement a sustainable plan for post-implementation system management and renewal
  3. Increase Flexibility and Responsiveness
    • Implement business processes that increase flexibility and responsiveness, while maintaining accountability
    • Maintain and leverage Purdue's financial strength
    • Collaborate effectively to realize the Strategic Plan
  4. Ensure a Physical Infrastructure that Supports and Enables the Purdue Strategic Plan
    • Review the campus master plan to ensure currency and support of strategic goals
    • Develop and implement strategies to secure a continuing revenue stream to address rehabilitation and repairs needs
    • Identify funding and construct first phases of the Transportation Master Plan
    • Deliver the capital program enabled by the Campaign for Purdue, effectively managing quality, schedule and costs
    • Develop and implement a life cycle replacement strategy for information technology assets supporting research, support, data storage and networking
    • Oversee the successful implementation of the West Lafayette University Residences Master Plan
  5. Ensure Effective Management of the University's Investments to Provide a Strong Flow of Resources Supporting Purdue's Mission
    • Organize the investment process and organization for maximum effectiveness
    • Continue implementation of revised asset allocation, focusing on access to high-quality private equity and venture capital managers
    • Engage Purdue alumni, friends and other institutional investors in idea generation, evaluation and manager access
  6. Empower and Engage the Purdue Workforce
    • Ensure broad planning process involvement to achieve an integrated plan with substantial buy-in
    • Leverage partnerships within and outside the University to achieve Purdue strategic goals
    • Incorporate a comprehensive approach to workforce management and employee compensation to ensure a motivated, informed and effective staff
    • Enhance professional development opportunities
    • Develop and implement strategies to ensure a high-quality, cost-effective health care and wellness benefit program
