Recruitment

  1. Develop specific and measurable goals for increasing underrepresented groups of staff and communicate these goals to all affected individuals.
  2. Finalize Implementation of centralized, web-based exit interview database through EVPT area. Utilize methods for extracting data to track trends and identify opportunities for improving the work environment.
  3. Establish outreach efforts to local outlets with substantial ethnic minority constituencies (including churches and community centers), advising their members of hiring opportunities and encouraging applications.  Pilot job fairs with four organizations.
  4. Assess mentor program pilot and implement throughout EVPT area.

Retention, Outreach & Assessment

  1. Establish Award for EVPT area to a department or unit who demonstrates support of diversity.
    • Recruitment of a diverse workforce
    • Increases retention
    • Staff education/development
    • Communication (newsletters, websites, etc)
    • Supplier Diversity
  2. Identify and develop future training programs.
  3. Communicate and celebrate diversity efforts and events to all staff through common mediums such as University web sites, bulletin boards, brochures, and departmental newsletters.
  4. Continue to build and foster a collaborative relationship betweencampus and community minority groups such as: Indiana Black Expo, Inc., Diversity Resource Office, Black Cultural Center, Black Caucus, Women's Resource Office, Latino Community Center, etc.
  5. Benchmark with Peer institutions.
  6. Repeat EVPT Diversity survey.
