VT Student Awards
Academic Merit Vet Tech Awards are awarded to first year veterinary students based on scholarship, interest, leadership, and an essay.
Eber H. Allen Leadership Award/Northeast Indiana Veterinary Medical Auxillary is based on outstanding leadership and professionalism which results in advancing a positive image of the Veterinary Technology program.
Fort Dodge Vetrinary Technology Award
Harry & Freida Latshaw Highest Academic Acheivement Award is awarded to the graduating second year veterinary technology student with the highest grade point average.
Harry & Freida Latshaw Veterinary Technologist Acheivement Award is awarded to a graduating senior Veterinary Technology student for achievment with emphasis on problem solving, writing, speaking, organizational skills, and workplace leadership.
Hill's Veterinary Technology Award is awarded to a graduating student in the Associate Degree Program based on outstanding clinical competency and academic performance.
IVMA Auxillary Award for Academic Acheivement & Clinical Proficiency is presented to a veterinary technology student who has shown academic achievement and clinical proficiency. 2009 awardee:Kimberly Brennan
IVTA/WCIVMA Award is awarded to the second year veterinary technology student showing the most outstanding qualities of initiative, effort, and leadership in the Veterinary Technology Program.
Pfizer Highest Technical Proficiency Award
Veterinary Imaging Consultants Highest Technical Proficiency Award is awarded to a second year veterinary technology student who has demonstrated the highest technical proficiency in his/her rotation sites.

American Animal Hospital Association Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student and AAHA member in recognition of their outstanding clinical proficiency in small animal medicine and surgery. 2009 awardee:Nolan Zeide
American Association of Feline Practitioners Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student in recognition of special interest and proficiency in feline medicine and surgery. 2009 awardee:Devin Forden
American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who excels in anesthesiology. 2009 awardee: Heidi Greger
American College of Veterinary Radiology Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who excels in clinical radiology. 2009 awardee: Andrew Manoloff
American College of Veterinary Surgeons Awards are presented to fourth year DVM students in recognition of their outstanding academic and clinical proficiency in small animal and large animal surgery. 2009 awardees:Excellence in small animal surgery: Cassie Lux; Excellence in large animal surgery:Martha Ullman
Auxiliary to the American Veterinary Medical Association Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has been outstanding in the prestigious advancement of veterinary medicine at this university campus. Student must be member of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. 2009 awardee: Carrie Spencer
Amstutz Bovine Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student in recognition of high interest and proficiency in bovine medicine and surgery. 2009 awardee: Carie Telgen
Bastien Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student exhibiting empathy and practicing exceptional canine care to a small animal patient in the veterinary clinics. 2009 awardee:Jessica Montgomery
William W. Carlton Award for Aptitude in Veterinary Pathology is presented to a third year DVM student who has shown interest and aptitude in the student of pathology by virtue of superior academic performance in pathology classes and/or participation in special projects or leaning opportunities outside the normal curricular requirements. 2009 awardee: Erica Twitchell
Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (CIVMA) Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student exhibiting outstanding communication skills. 2009 awardee:Erin Wendt
Comparative Ophthalmology Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has shown outstanding performance in comparative ophthalmology. 2009 awardee: Sean Collins
G. Edward Cummins Compassionate Care Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who best exemplifies clinical training and compassion for animals and clients. 2009 awardee: Tara Gunn
Allan Hart/IDEXX Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has consistently demonstrated a strong understanding of clinical pathology and its practical application to clinical cases. During clinical rotations, the student must have demonstrated the ability to combine clinical laboratory testing with history, physical examination, and ancillary tests to diagnose disease and monitor patient progress. 2009 awardee:William Siska
Hill’s Pet Nutrition “Buddy” Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has demonstrated excellent problem solving ability in small animal medicine and surgery and has shown high interest and proficiency in the application of nutrition in clinical practice. 2009 awardee: Erin Wendt
Holly Watts Memorial Award is presented to any student in the professional veterinary degree program who has exhibited exceptional interest and proficiency in disease prevention, treatment and care of non-domesticated animals. 2009 awardee: Christopher Fulkerson
Indiana Association of Equine Practitioners Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who displays the highest degree of professionalism in equine practice. This student shall have demonstrated a high level of clinical proficiency, and a keen interest in organized veterinary medicine and continuing education. 2009 awardee: Amber Boring
Indiana Horse Council Equine Industry Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student providing the greatest exposure of the equine industry to other students. 2009 awardee: Carrie Van Tassel
IVMA 12th District Award is presented to a third or fourth year DVM student who has shown significant accomplishment in one or more aspects of veterinary preventive medicine. This accomplishment may be demonstrated by achievement in one or more of the following categories: classroom performance in veterinary public health courses; research or original published work in the field of veterinary preventive medicine; public service in veterinary preventive medicine; field experience in the form of an internship, externship, or volunteer work which provides in-depth knowledge of some aspect of veterinary preventive medicine. 2009 awardee: Jennifer Fife
IVMA Awards are presented to fourth year DVM students who are proficient in small animal medicine and surgery, large animal medicine and surgery and all species medicine and surgery. 2009 awardees: Superior proficiency in small animal medicine and surgery: Jeffrey Little; Superior proficiency in large animal medicine and surgery: Nathan Ahlemeyer; Superior overall proficiency in all species medicine and surgery: Carrie Spencer

International Programs Award is presented to an ECFVG/Ross student who has shown outstanding clinical proficiency, patient care, knowledge of medical principles of disease, and teamwork. 2009 awardee: Sean Collins
Gerald P. Murphy Prize for Excellence in Comparative Oncology Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has shown outstanding interest and dedication to the comparative aspects of veterinary oncology. In particular, this award recognizes students for their future potential to make important contributions to the field of comparative oncology. 2009 awardees: Jeffrey Little and Sara Rudwell.
Pfizer Veterinary Student Scholarship Award is presented to a third year DVM student who through their ability, dedication and character has attained a high level of academic achievement and productivity.
Pfizer Small Animal Clinical Proficiency Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has shown the highest academic proficiency
Pfizer Clinical Proficiency Swine Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has shown the highest academic proficiency
Pfizer Veterinary Specialty Team Award is presented to senior veterinary students who have shown the highest academic and clinical proficiency in one of four areas that include small animal dermatology, dentistry, internal medicine and emergency/critical care.
Purdue Veterinary Alumni Senior Leadership Award is presented to an outstanding senior identified by classmates on the basis of academic performance, activites, and leadership. 2009 awardee: Carrie Spencer
Simmons & Associates Business Aptitude Award is presented to DVM students who have demonstrated entrepreneurial interest and an aptitude for business matters of a veterinary practice. 2009 awardees: Christopher Hall and Heidi Choy
Crystal Thompson Dermatology Award is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has shown exceptional interest in veterinary dermatology. 2009 awardee:Andrea Thormahlen
Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society is presented to a fourth year DVM student who has consistently demonstrated the most outstanding interest and proficiency in small animal emergency medicine and critical care.
Veterinary Software Associates/IDEXX Laboratories is presented to a second year DVM student in the 1/3 of the class academically that overtly represents the Veterinary professional code. He/she should be a proven classroom leader that is also active in campus activities geared toward community betterment. 2009 awardee:Lindsey Hedges
World Animal Care Foundation is presented to a fourth year student who has demonstrated an understanding and appreciation for the Human-Animal Relationship through their involvement in human-animal bond activities. 2009 awardee: Jessica Mongomery
