Dr. Ann L. Johnson and Dr. Walter E. Hoffman Residency Teaching Award
Presented to a DVM resident who demonstrates excellence in teaching. 2009 awardee: Dr. Michael Childress
 
Katie McCallister Compassion Award
Presented to an intern or resident who demonstrates extraordinary compassion and empathy toward both patients and their families. He/she should have excellent communication skills, which promote a sense of trust and confidence with the patient’s family. 2009 awardee: Dr. Stephanie Thomovsky


Dr. Srieveny Dongoudoubiyam was awarded the 2009 National Phi Zeta Manuscript Award in the category of Clinical/Applied Research. Sriveny is the first Purdue nominee to be selected for the National Award.
 
Dr. Kristina Goncarovs received the 2009 Joan O’Brien Award for best oral presentation (Equine Category) at the Veterinary Comparative Respiratory Society Meeting
 
Dr. Michael Owston is the recipient of the 2009 C.L. Davis Award in Veterinary Pathology.
 
Dr. Stephanie Thomovsky received the 2009 Katie McCallister Compassion Award.
