Scholarship Application

Before you apply for Summer Stay Scholars, here is some basic information to help you better understand how the scholarships work and who qualifies.

How does it work?

If you are chosen for Summer Stay Scholars, you will receive a $2,500 scholarship to cover your tuition and fees for nine credit hours for the summer. The $2,500 will cover full tuition and fees for a resident student and be a sizeable decrease in total cost for a non-resident or international student. Also, there are several housing/dining scholarships available for which all applicants will be automatically considered.

As a Summer Stay Scholar you will take classes and work at least 140 hours with a faculty member on research or doing an internship with a staff office on campus. You will be able to choose six of the nine credit hours during the summer. The other three credit hours will consist of a one-credit research/internship companion course and a two-credit wellness-focused course.

Who qualifies?

To qualify for Summer Stay Scholars, you must have:

  • Attended your first semester at a Purdue University campus in Spring 2016 or earlier
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Not completed a previous on-campus summer course on the West Lafayette campus
  • Undergraduate student status

How do I apply?

The application for Summer Stay Scholars 2017 has now closed.  It is anticipated that decisions will be released during the week of March 20, 2017.
