Graduation Cords


In recognition of your military service to the United States of America, Purdue University would like to honor your graduation by authorizing you to wear red, white, and blue honor cords to your summer commencement ceremony.

Eligibility: If you graduate and are an honorably discharged U.S. veteran student, currently serving U.S. military student, or ROTC student commissioning upon graduation you are authorized to wear a Military and Veteran Graduation Cord.

Distribution: Cord distribution for the winter graduation begins on November first, for spring graduation on April first, and summer graduation on July fifteen. Cords are available for pick up in the Veterans Success Center PMU 284 through the week from 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. Please bring your PUID for confirmation. If you are not using GI BILL benefits you may be asked to show either a copy of your DD-214 or a valid military identification card. ROTC graduates may pick up their cord through their chain of command.
