To support your academic success, Purdue Promise offers free printing exclusively for Purdue Promise scholars. Please review the information below regarding this service.

Study Hours

As part of GS 197 all first-year Purdue Promise students are required to log 5 study hours per week at a designated campus academic resource or on the 4th floor of KRCH where Purdue Promise offices are located. More information is provided on the GS 197 syllabus and questions can be directed to your instructor.

Students on MAPS may also be required to do study hours. If you are on MAPS, your Purdue Promise Coach will provide more information about this when you create your academic success contract together.

Quiet Study

Quiet study is offered daily on the 4th floor of KRCH in the common areas (tables and chairs surrounding the front desk) and in 464A when it is not reserved for a meeting or other activity.

Outside of business hours you may study on the 4th floor in any of the common areas, 464A (when not reserved), and any of the consultation rooms / conference rooms (when not reserved), but we cannot guarantee that it will be quiet.

Consultation Rooms and Conference Rooms

The consultation rooms and conference rooms located on the 4th floor of KRCH are reserved for Student Success staff and student leaders from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. They are used for the following purposes:

  • Program staff meetings
  • Student leader trainings
  • Purdue Promise Coaches’ one-on-one meetings with students
  • ScholarCorps’ College Success Advocates’ (CSAs’) one-on-one meetings with students
  • Peer Success Coaches’ (PSCs’) one-on-one meetings with students
  • Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader’s one-on-one meetings with students
  • Boiler Gold Rush (BGR) student leader meetings
  • Academic Success Center (ASC) consultations and coaching meetings

Please do not use these rooms during business hours without prior consent. Our programs experience a lot of traffic during the day, and often have the rooms reserved for meetings. If you choose to use a room when it is reserved during, you will likely be asked to move when a staff member or student leader comes to use that room.

Study Slams

On the Tuesday and Wednesday of Dead Week each semester, Purdue Promise holds Study Slams from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the 4th floor of KRCH. These are planned to assist you in preparing for final exams. Snacks are provided, and there are spaces available for quiet study and group study, access to free printing, and access to tutors.
