Strategic
Plan Timeline
Winter
2001
- In
February 2001, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution
endorsing President Martin C. Jischkes effort to create
a strategic plan for all Purdue campuses.
- Strategic
planning task forces, made up of faculty, staff, student,
and alumni representatives, were formed on each campus.
The task forces met weekly and made progress reports to
President Jischke.
Spring
2001
- Rabindra
Mukerjea, Purdues new director of strategic planning
and assessment, began work on March 1.
- Members
of the strategic planning task forces met for the first
time in mid-March.
- Mission
and vision statements from each campus were presented to
the Board of Trustees on April 6.
- Plan
goals were to be established by May 18. Specific goals for
each campus and specific actions or plans that will be used
to reach those goals were included.
Summer
and Fall 2001
- Draft
strategic plans were to be submitted in mid-July.
- Public
review of the draft plans took place in August, September,
and October.
November
2001
- A
final plan was approved at the Board of Trustees November
2 meeting.
Winter
2001 Fall 2002
- Based
on the Universitys strategic plan, each school, department,
and administrative unit will develop its own plan during
the 2001-02 academic year outlining how its mission fits
with the broader University mission. A review will be held
each fall to assess progress.
