A pioneering program to staff rural secondary schools with highly qualified science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) teachers is taking shape at Purdue University, thanks to a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team of educators from the College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Science, and College of Technology and funding from the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation and Lilly Endowment.

“We are the first state to do this, and Purdue is the first university to focus on rural schools,” Sidney Moon, associate dean for learning and engagement in the College of Education, says of “STEM Goes Rural.”
