VPSS Website

The VPSS website was redesigned with improved navigation and
a few additional pages and sections. The site was separated
into five sections to target specific audiences. The different
areas are: Students, Faculty, Staff, Visitors, and an All
Areas section. Each section has navigation elements specific
to their areas (see figure
7-1 and figure
7-2).
Also included in the redesign is a new section for Student Services Development,
including information on how to donate to Student Services.
And a new page with a biography of the current Vice President
for Student Services was added.
TRAX Website
http://www.purdue.edu/Trax/ (link no longer available)
The TRAX website was redesigned with an updated version of
the previous look and navigation. The new site makes better
use of screen space and an additional navigational directory
was added at the top of the page.
Excellence 21 Website
http://www.purdue.edu/Excellence21/ (no longer available)
A new site was created for Excellence 21. The site was previously
hosted and maintained through the Technology department. The
new site feature includes improved navigation and new and
updated content.
Help Gateway Website
http://www.purdue.edu/help/
A new site was created to aid students in finding information
online. The site is a one page gateway linking directly to
the Student Services HelpDesk website (no longer available) and the SSINFO
website.
The site has been linked from the Purdue homepage (www.purdue.edu).
SSC Web Sites
Student Services Computing Web Author Website

A new site was created for the Web Author for Student
Services Computing. The site includes useful links to other
web development and web policy websites at Purdue, as well
as, a list of sites maintained by the Student Services Computing
Web Author.
IT Consultant Website
http://www.purdue.edu/ssta/itconsultant/
A site was developed for the new Student Services Computing IT
Consultant position. The site includes information about the
position and services offered, as well as, information about
the Student Services Computing strategic plan.
Boiler Gold Rush
A Flash animation presentation was developed and shown at Boiler
Gold Rush that promoted SSINFO and the Student Services HelpDesk
and the features they offer. The animation directed students
to visit the Help gateway website (listed above).
The presentation was followed up with an online scavenger hunt encouraging
students to explore the two websites (HelpDesk and SSINFO).
Prize packages, provided by Follett's Bookstore, were awarded
to the first twelve students who correctly filled out an online
form describing the location of an image of a character, Lewis,
from the animated presentation
Next Year's Activities
Student Services HelpDesk website
The HelpDesk is part of an expansion project through the Admissions
Office and funded by a grant from USA Group. The HelpDesk
website is currently being redesigned to improve navigation
and will be separated into different sections for specific
audiences. The project will also include staffing and training
for individuals to answer questions that are received through
the HelpDesk.
Student Services Computing website
The Student Services Computing website will be redesigned
to improve the look and feel and navigation of the site.
HelpDesk Usage Statistics
Statistics reports have been set up for several of the websites listed
above, including: TRAX, Excellence 21, and the Help gateway
site. There has not been enough information tallied at this
time for an accurate report.
