North Lawn, Purdue Memorial Mall

You'll have a choice between a turkey & cojack, a ham & swiss, or a vegetarian sandwich.  We will offer our side options of chips, pretzels, carrots, trail mix, apples, and ice cream.  Bottled beverages will be provided.

For those employees still hard at work, carry out orders will be available at the Meredith Hall back dock.  Orders will be taken May 16-20 at 49-47166, and must be received by 4:00 p.m. on May 20.  Walk-in orders will not be accepted.

ZERO Waste

The Spring Fling coordinating committee continues to sponsor Purdue's Zero Waste program.  We will continue our part by offering products in recyclable packaging and providing containers for the compostable waste.  We ask that everyone do their part by utilizing the proper containers. Together we can make Spring Fling 2016 another ZERO WASTE event!


Music and Karaoke!

Enjoy music from every genre as you line up for lunch or dine outside with the hottest DJ in Lafayette!  Purdue staff can show off their singing abilities by participting in Karaoke!

Volunteer Opportunities

You can volunteer to help with Spring Fling 2016 by registering online OR by completing the Volunteer Registration form in your registration packet. By registering as a volunteer, you will receive three (3) additional entries for the door prizes! Deadline is May 13.

Classic Vehicle Show

11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Class of 50, Purdue Memorial Mall

Open-class show of antique, classic, and show cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other vehicles.  Vehicles will be displayed in the north end of Purdue Memorial Mall. All types of vehicles are welcome. Prizes will be awarded. All participants will receive dash plaques.

To help this event be a success, exhibitors should remember:

  • Information placards about the vehicle will be provided.
  • Purdue assumes no responsibility for theft of or damage to exhibit items.

Register online or by completing the form in your registration packet by May 13.

Golf Outing

Tee times begin at 11:30 a.m. on May 25.

Sign up to play the Kampen course for $30.  This special rate includes 18 holes walking, with the option of riding at a discounted cart rate of $10.

Tee times will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.  Your Purdue ID will be checked when you register at the Dye Clubhouse.

Registration:  Please call 494-3139, ext 1 to reserve your tee time.  Online reservations will not work for this event. Call to make your reservations soon because times fill up quickly!

Fitness Walk

Start between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Finish any time before 3:30 p.m. The walk will only be cancelled if there is a severe storm.

An approximately three mile, non-competitive walking event. Walk may include some elevation and/or steps.

Register online OR complete the form in your registration packet by May 13.

New Event!

Disc Golf

1:00-4:30 p.m. Slayter Hill First tee is to the right of Slayter Hill.

Whether you've been playing for a while, or are looking for something new to try - disc golf is becoming one of the greatest lifetime fitness sports available. Disc golf is played much like tradition golf, however, players use a flying disc rather than a ball and clubs. If you're interested in playing, meet at the first tee at Slayter Hill at 1:00 p.m on May 25th for some basic information, and to get started.

Bring your own discs, or check with the Co-Rec for rental.

Zumba Sessions

12:00- 1:00p.m. and 1:00-2:00
Room 302, Stewart Center

You'll want to join in this musical exercise program where Latin-style dance moves are incorporated into aerobic training that keeps participants coming back!  Come and see what Zumba is all about!


Tour Campus with CityBus!

State Street at Stone Hall

Where did the name Boilermakers originate? How many students were enrolled when Purdue opened? Whey was the John Purdue statue placed across from University Hall? Learn the answers to these questions and more by riding the Spring Fling "Tour Campus with CityBus"! Tour runs every 30 minutes; last tour starts at 1:30 p.m.

Spring Fling will again host its annual blood drive.  Purdue staff and faculty has made this event successful for five years running, and we have surpassed our goal each year!  Keep up the good work Purdue!  The Indiana Blood Center provides blood to more than 60 hospitals in Indiana.  Please plan to donate at Spring Fling, and bring a photo I.D.

Sponsored Event: FOOD DRIVE for the Food Finders Food Bank

**Drop-off barrels will be located next to the Newstand in Stewart Center, and around the corner from Starbucks two weeks prior to Spring Fling; bring perishables by anytime!  On event day, look for specially marked food barrels next to the information table, and PURA retiree tent.

Again this year, PURA (Purdue University Retirees Association) is asking everyone to bring at least one non-perishable item with them to Spring Fling.  Food Finders Food Bank is the largest non-profit food provider in mid-north Indiana, and each year, the Food Finders Food Bank works with 120 agencies in 16 Indiana counties; 66 of those agencies are right here in Tippecanoe County. 

Items Needed by Food Finders Food Bank:
