A goal of SMARTcomputing is to identify a standardized secure computing environment that can meet the needs of the majority of users in the Purdue community including hardware selection, software selection, and computer imaging.
Standard hardware models (with options) are provided. Standardization is achieved through regular collaboration of IT representatives across academic, administrative and central IT areas. This reduces technical complexity; improves information security, privacy, and integrity; improves service quality; and optimizes resources and strategic partnerships. Configurations are reviewed quarterly and updated as needed.
