Advocacy Services

Campus Services

The Center for Advocacy, Response, and Education (CARE) in the Office of the Dean of Students provides support and advocacy services to students who have experienced sexual assault, relationship violence, or stalking incidents. CARE staff are available to assist students who may need the following services:

  • Academic adjustments, including absence notifications, processing incompletes and changing class schedules.
  • Work accommodations.
  • Housing accomodations
  • Advocacy and support during any University disciplinary investigation.
  • Advocacy and support during any law enforcement investigation.
  • Assistance in obtaining no-contact directives through the University or protective orders through the local court systems.

You can call any time (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including breaks and holidays) to receive confidential support and advocacy services.

Community Services

The Crisis Center has specially trained sexual assault advocates who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide advocacy services to victims/survivors of sexual assault. Crisis Center advocates can be present during post-sexual assault exams and law enforcement interviews if desired. Individuals may contact the Crisis Center to request assistance by calling 211 or 765.742.0244. Both male and female advocates are available.

The YWCA has trained sexual abuse advocates available to help individuals who have experienced  sexual or domestic/relationship violence. Individuals may call the 24-hour hotline (765.423.1118 or 888.345.1118) and request a trained sexual abuse advocate, who will typically call the person back within 30 minutes.
