				<title>Internal Revenue Service Suspicious Emails and Identity Theft Information</title>        
				<description>On September 28, 2009 The US Computer Emergency Readiness team (US-CERT) issued an alert warning of a spam attack in which the messages are spoofed to appear to come from the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regarding underreported income.  The messages encourages recipients to open an attachment or click on a link to view their tax statement, but the attachment contains malware and the link leads to a malicious website.  </description>

				<title>Purdue Warns Affiliate Organizations of .Com Email Scam</title>        
				<description>ITaP Networks and Security is warning the Purdue community about reports of a targeted e-mail scam alleging to be from the &quot;webmaster&quot; of Purdue University.  This scam  appears to be directed currently at organizations that are closely affiliated with Purdue.  Purdue University is not changing its domain name or home page URL and is not becoming a .com site.  IT Networks and Security recommends that users immediately delete these emails and to not reply or take the action requested in the email. </description>

				<title>Purdue joins InCommon Federation</title>        
				<description>Purdue recently became a member of the InCommon Federation.  The InCommon Federation manages federated authentication services to higher education institutions and their sponsored partners. 

InCommon participants are able to access resources made available by other InCommon participants using their local campus login credentials.  All participants in the federation, like Purdue, use a common set of policies and practices to exchange information about their users and resources in order to enable collaboration.</description>
