McAfee VirusScan Home Edition, Version 12 Available

McAfee VirusScan Home Edition, Version 12, is available for download on the SecurePurdue download page.

Users who are currently using McAfee VirusScan Home Edition Version 11 and are experiencing a license expiration error should visit the SecurePurdue download page, download McAfee VirusScan Home Edition Version 12, uninstall VirusScan Version 11, then finally install VirusScan Version 12. While uninstalling and reinstalling anti-virus software, it is highly recommended to not be connected to the Internet. Staying connected to the Internet while unprotected by anti-virus software greatly increases the risk of virus, worm and trojan infection.

McAfee VirusScan Home Edition Version 12 will run on the following Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows 2000; Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit only!); Microsoft Vista (32-bit AND 64-bit). Please read that Microsoft Windows XP 64-bit is NOT supported in McAfee VirusScan Home Edition Version 12.

The following are recommended system requirements for users running Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic:

• 1 GHz 32-bit (x86)
• 1 GB of system memory (RAM)
• 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space Support for DirectX 9 graphics with:
  WDDM Driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, 32 bits per pixel
• DVD-ROM drive
• Audio Output
• Internet access (fees may apply)

The following are minimum system requirements for Microsoft Windows Vista:

• 800 MHz processor
• 512 MB of system memory
• 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space
