Purdue University College of Science
Meet the Rosenbergs

Marty Rosenberg has an impressive resume by nearly anyone’s standards — 10 years at the National Institutes of Health, followed by 20 years at GlaxoSmithKline, where he retired as a senior vice president in 2001. Even his retirement is an ambitious one. He serves as chief scientific officer of Promega Corporation and as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, among other ventures. “Purdue formed the basis for an exciting and fulfilling life in science,” says Rosenberg, who earned his PhD in biological sciences from the University in 1972. “I would not be where I am today if not for my education.” Compelled by gratitude, Rosenberg and his wife, Beverly, made a planned gift to Purdue’s biological sciences department in 2009. They established a charitable remainder unitrust that will fund the Martin and Beverly Rosenberg Graduate Student Endowment. “The department head will be able to use the money as he or she sees

fit, with the overall goal of supporting graduate students,” Rosenberg notes. “Beverly and I view the endowment as a wonderful opportunity to give back to Purdue — and to help future students.”
