"Building Community"
Staying on campus, sipping coffee in the Purdue Memorial Union, and traversing from classrooms to laboratories are all part of the weekend experience of Science Bound parents who attend an on-campus retreat during the month of May. Gathering in classrooms, they learn from professors about the array of educational opportunities available at the University. At the closing luncheon, the Provost, a Purdue Astronaut or another high ranking official encourage parents to continue helping their children excel.
"Science Bound is giving my twin daughters a chance to learn about science, technology, and other areas that are crucial to helping them succeed in a world that is moving faster and faster every single day."
-Michelle Allensworth, Parent of 2008 Science Bound Arlington high school graduates: Brittany and Brianna
