Getting Other Scholarships

Receiving other scholarships does not harm your eligibility for the Twenty-first Century Scholars (TfCS) award. On the contrary, other scholarships will help you financially. The more scholarships you have, the less you will have to pay.

Here are some things to keep in mind when looking for scholarships:

  • Be sure to complete the FAFSA.
  • Find out how the scholarship can be used (i.e., tuition, room and board, other expenses).
  • Other scholarships that apply to tuition will be applied before your TfCS award. This is not a bad thing.
  • Scholarships that apply to costs other than tuition will not change the amount of your TfCS award.
  • Visit Learn More Indiana for more information on how to pay for college.
  • If you are considering summer school, find out if you qualify for TfCS’s GEAR UP Summer Scholarship.
  • Be wary of companies offering scholarship searches for a fee — some of them are scams. The following sites offer free scholarship searches.*
  • Scholarships Available from The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette
