In order to conduct research, teaching, or testing using vertebrate animals at Purdue University, you must have an approved protocol on file with the Purdue Animal Care and Use Committee (PACUC). All protocol applications must be submitted electronically through the Coeus system.
If you are using Coeus for the first time, whether you are Purdue personnel or external to the university, you will need to complete a User Access Request Form found at the following URL:
Once user access has been granted by the Electronic Research Administration office (eRA), you will be able to submit applications through Coeus.
On the Coeus website, on the top navigation bar, under IACUC Protocols, there are many user guides that will assist you with submitting items through the system.
On the PACUC website, under the Forms button on the left navigation bar, are the forms that should be used when attaching documents to your Coeus submission (e.g., PACUC Protocol Application Attachment and PACUC Form 1A – Amendment). Always use the forms on the website vs. saving the form to your desktop as they are updated regularly.
