The mini-conference will focus on how families communicate about health and health problems, and how families are involved in discussions with providers and decision-making about patient care. It aims to inform researchers, students, and healthcare providers about new research findings regarding the role of patients’ spouses and families in their healthcare and chronic disease management.
Keynote speakers will be Chris Segrin, University of Arizona; Daena Goldsmith, Lewis & Clark College; and Kathleen Galvin, Northwestern University. Purdue communications and human development & family studies faculty will participate in panel discussions. The day also includes a poster session for graduate students.
This conference is free and there will be a poster session at lunch. Faculty and students are invited to participate in the poster session. Registration for the conference and poster session are required.
