Purdue Finalizes Plan to Provide RCR Education to Satisfy New NSF Requirement
In Fall 2009, the National Science Foundation (NSF) published its implementation of a new requirement for education of undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the responsible conduct of research (RCR). Beginning in January 2010, when Purdue submits proposals to NSF, Sponsored Program Services must certify that Purdue has a plan to provide this RCR education and will ensure that students and postdoctoral researchers supported by NSF to conduct research will receive RCR education according to the plan. American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA)
The Office of the Vice President for Research has established a Web site to provide timely information on grant opportunities resulting from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). The site includes links to federal funding agencies, information about campus groups focused on funding opportunities in life sciences, education, energy and defense, and ARRA contact information for both OVPR and SPS.
Purdue University will create a $23.5 million Center for High Performance Buildings to design systems for future structures that are more environmentally and user friendly, energy efficient, and safe.Construction on the Purdue project is expected to begin in February 2010 and be completed by December 2012. The center will be housed in a new 68,000-square-foot facility upgrading Purdue's Ray W. Herrick Laboratories.
