The Purdue Chapter of the Sigma Xi seeks to recognize a faculty for outstanding research with an award that consists of a plaque and $1,000. The award will be presented at the Sigma Xi banquet on Wednesday, April 18, 2007. The recipient will be invited to speak at an appropriate occasion.
Nominations are now open for the 2007 Faculty Research Award. The nominee should be currently in residence at the West Lafayette campus, but need not be a member of Sigma Xi. Nominations should include the following:
- A completed Nomination
Form
- A curriculum vitae of the candidate
- Three letters of recommendation
- Copies of reprints or manuscripts of significant publications
In preparing the nomination, the committee recommends that those writing
supporting letters to be asked to concentrate on the distinctive research
advances made by the nominee. The nomination should focus on the scientific
research accomplishments for which the person is nominated rather than
service to the university or other career accomplishments of the applicant.
