Mission
The Global Policy Research Institute (GPRI) enhances the visibility and impact of Purdue University's strengths in policy-related and multidisciplinary research, education, service, and outreach to inform decision-makers on global policy issues.
Three Foundational Pillars
Purdue University’s decision to launch a Global Policy Research Institute (GPRI) builds on Purdue’s solid foundation as a land grant university with a world renowned reputation in agriculture, engineering and the sciences. With Purdue’s research competencies serving as its foundation, GPRI is focusing its efforts on building and sustaining three critical pillars.
Education
Provide opportunities for students to learn about global policy issues and experience a policymaking environment through: courses, mentoring, seminars, conferences, internships, and fellowships.
Foster a culture of multidisciplinary, evidence-based research collaborations focused on policy-related global issues or grand challenges, e.g. food security.
Leverage connections among local, state, national, and international decision makers with Purdue faculty experts to address global research issues through state of the art research.
The purpose of this particular WWW page is to provide some advice about
how to prepare and present testimony with some greater confidence and
success. It is based on personal experience of Gene Spafford testifying before Congressional committees and commissions many times.
