Purdue University, in cooperation with TechPoint, will host an Information Technology (IT) Summit to showcase Purdue’s IT students and disciplines on November 10, 2009, in Stewart Center, Room 206.
The purpose of the Summit is to allow Indiana companies to become familiar with the broad range of IT resources at Purdue and to learn how to access Purdue students. These resources include:
- Access to students via a poster session and a networking lunch
- Description of faculty expertise in all IT related disciplines
- List of Purdue IT related centers and institutes
The program will start with a presentation by Stephen Hourigan, Director of IEDC 21st Century Fund and Entrepreneurship, followed by a description of the major IT disciplines at Purdue and how to access Purdue IT students. An industry panel moderated by Jim Jay of TechPoint will discuss the IT industry needs.
A poster session featuring graduate and undergraduate posters will be held during the lunch hour. This is also an opportunity for Indiana IT companies to showcase their internships and job opportunities. A kiosk will be provided to distribute company employment related information to IT students and poster presenters.
All attendees will receive a booklet highlighting Purdue’s IT faculty expertise and centers and institutes.
There is no charge to attend, however all attendees should register by November 2, 2009. Please register at http://www.purdue.edu/research/2009ITSummit
