Badges and Dosimetry

In order to receive a ring or whole body badge, you must fulfill a few requirements.

  1. Submit a Form A-4 (Application to Use Radioactive Materials and/or Radiation-Producing Devices).
  2. Sign up for training;
    • If you will be using laboratory isotopes only, please contact Mark Pflug to set up your training.
    • If you will be using x-ray equipment, sealed sources, moisture density gauges, or any other radiation producing devices, please contact Jim Schweitzer to set up your training.
  3. REM determines what type of badge(s) you will need based on the degree of hazard you will be working with.  There are several situations in which badges are not required.

If you have any other questions, please contact Jim Schweitzer for assistance.
